Trump, Technology and the Far Right: Tactics for Challenging Right-Wing Extremism in Canada – January 24
On Thursday, January 24, the (FSSH) will welcome three experts who will host a discussion about right-wing extremism in Canada, and how it can be challenged.
Guest speakers:
- J. Galloway is a Research and Intervention Specialist with the Organization for Protection of Violence; a Regional Co-ordinator for the Against Violence Network; and an affiliate with the Canadian Network for Research on Terrorism, Security and Society. He is also a former leader in the Canadian right-wing extremist movement.
- Barbara Perry, PhD, is a Criminology Professor at the ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø and the Director of the Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism. She is regularly called upon by local, national and international media as an expert on hate crime and right-wing extremism.
- Tanner Mirrlees, PhD, is an Associate Professor in Communication and Digital Media Studies at the ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø, and a member of the Centre on Hate, Bias and Extremism steering committee. His recent research with Dr. Perry and Ryan Scrivens, PhD, Horizon Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Concordia University, examines the convergence of right-wing extremism and social media.
