IT Service Desk holiday closure

The Learning Commons at the north and downtown Oshawa locations will close during the holiday period.

Update your password

If you haven’t changed your network password in the past three months, please take a minute and do so now by simultaneously holding down the Control, Alt and Delete buttons on your keyboard and selecting Change password.

Note: This network password change can only be done on campus. If you expect to log in to institutional systems during the holiday break, you will need to change your password on before Friday, December 21. Manual password resets will not be available between Saturday, December 22 and Tuesday, January 1.

Emergency IT issues

For any emergency information technology (IT) issues related to the core systems listed below, contact the IT Service Desk by email or by phone message service at 905.721.3333, option 1:

  • Banner
  • Blackboard
  • Exchange email (Outlook and webmail) or smartphone service
  • Internet access
  • meal plan
  • MyCampus
  • networking services (includes VPN, authentication, DHCP, DNS, etc.)
  • student cloud email applications - UOIT.net

Dates and hours

The IT Service Desk in the Learning Commons will close for statutory holidays (and the email inbox will not be checked) on:

  • Tuesday, December 25
  • Wednesday, December 26
  • Tuesday, January 1

The IT Service Desk email inbox will be checked daily for any emergency-related issues only on:

  • Saturday, December 22 through Monday, December 24
  • Thursday, December 27 through Monday, December 31

Regular operational hours (7:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.) resume on Wednesday, January 2.
