Black History Month: African Black Canadians and Indigenous Peoples' Relationships to This Land – February 27
On Wednesday, February 27, the President’s Equity Taskforce will host the university’s third-annual Black History Month event, entitled African Black Canadians and Indigenous Peoples' Relationships to this Land. This event will create a space for open conversations around equity, diversity and inclusion.
Speakers:
- Tamari Kitossa, PhD, Associate Professor, Sociology, Brock University.
- Bonita Lawrence, PhD (Mi’Kmaw), Professor, Chair of the Department of Equity Studies, and Co-ordinator of the Indigenous Studies Program, York University.
- Barrington Walker, PhD, Associate Professor, Department of History, Queen’s University.
- Elder Shirley Ida Eliza Mary Immaculata Williams (Pheasant), Sitting Elder on the President’s Indigenous Reconciliation Task Force, ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø.
