Student Life to host Bell Let’s Talk Day activities on January 30

Mental illness affects people of all ages and from all walks of life. But stigma continues to be a problem: according to the Canadian Mental Health Association, two-thirds of people living with mental illness are too afraid to seek help, for fear of being judged or discriminated against by friends, family members and co-workers.

On (Wednesday, January 30) the Office of Student Life will host activities on campus to help fight the stigma. Faculty, staff and students can visit the Science Building, Founding Deans Atrium or the 61 Charles Street Building to check out the photo booth, pick up some swag and snacks, receive information and share messages of support.

Be sure to include #BellLetsTalk in your social media posts; each time you use the hashtag, Bell will contribute five cents to Canadian mental health programs.

Join the conversation to end the stigma surrounding mental illness.
