Better the Balance, Better the World: Bridging the Gender Gap in STEM Fields – March 7

The President’s Equity Taskforce invites faculty and staff to attend an International Women’s Day Breakfast event entitled Better the Balance, Better the World: Bridging the Gender Gap in STEM Fields on Thursday, March 7.

This roundtable will bring together dynamic global leaders from higher education, business, public policy and science, technology, engineering and math (STEM). These leaders will address the impact of gender equity, diversity and inclusion (EDI) on teaching and research in STEM disciplines, and determine approaches to improving support, education and retention of female students and faculty in STEM fields. Panelists will share their views, experiences and strategies for inspiring EDI best practices that could help increase gender diversity in the STEM community at the university.

When: Thursday, March 7:

  • Panel discussion and roundtable – 8:50 to 11:45 a.m.
