Examining Migration and Mobilities in 21st-Century Canada: A Panel on Gender, Race and State Violence – March 6

On Wednesday, March 6, the Faculty of Social Science and Humanities (FSSH) will welcome a panel of speakers on migration and mobility in Canada from both an academic and community perspective. These issues will be discussed within a framework of gender, race and violence.

This event is sponsored by the Michael Starr Seminar Series in Public Policy. 

Speakers:

  • Stephanie J. Silverman, PhD, lecturer and interim associate director of the Ethics, Society and Law Program at Trinity College in the University of Toronto.
  • Ethel Tungohan, PhD, Canada Research Chair in Canadian Migration Policy, Impacts and Activism and Assistant Professor, Department of Politics, York University.
  • Jesson Reyes, Co-ordinator of Migrants Resource Centre Canada.

This event will be moderated by Shanti Fernando, PhD, Associate Professor and Undergraduate Program Director, Political Science, FSSH.
