Call for university volunteers for Toronto Pride Festival – June 21 to 23

The university’s Pride Planning Committee seeks volunteers to help with the university’s activities during the Toronto Pride Festival, Friday, June 21 through Sunday, June 23.

In an effort to build a more equitable and inclusive campus for all, the Committee welcomes all volunteers, whether they identify as part of the LGBTQ2S+ community or want to join as a supporter.

All student volunteers will receive a $50 honorarium to cover travel and food expenses.

Opportunities:

  • University booth at Pride Street Fair
Represent our community by sharing information about the university, our programs, services and supports (two to three volunteers per shift, with the ability to arrive 15 minutes before the shift begins to allow for transition).
    • Dates: Friday, June 21, Saturday, June 22, Sunday, June 23
    • Shift times: 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.; 1 to 4 p.m.; 4 to 7 p.m.
  • Marching with university community members at the Pride Parade
    • When: Sunday, June 23, beginning at 2 p.m.
    • Where: The parade begins at the intersection of Bloor and Church streets in Toronto. Note: The time and parade route is based on 2018 details. Participants will receive marshalling instructions closer to the date.

In May, the Committee will host its kick-off event/volunteer meetup to outline the responsibilities for each role and provide an opportunity for volunteers to meet each other.
