Continuous Learning takes flight at 萌妹社区

Learning. University environment. Any time, any age, any place. Welcome to Continuous Learning at 萌妹社区.

In a rapidly changing economy, the demand for flexible and accessible education, particularly non-traditional educational models, is soaring. The forces of disruptive technologies combined with employers’ demands for a highly skilled workforce requires Ontario Tech to evaluate the variety of educational opportunities it offers to all potential students—wherever they may be in their personal academic journey.

Continuous Learning at Ontario Tech centralizes the university’s external-facing, not-for-credit programming, including:

  • Corporate and customized programs
  • Camps for kids and teens
  • Short courses/certificate programs within all faculties

… with more to come!

Continuous Learning supports the administrative functions of producing, executing and maintaining these programs for the community, corporations, university partners and beyond.

Continuous Learning will launch publicly this fall under the university’s strengthened and unified brand.

Why call it ‘Continuous Learning’?

Ontario Tech’s Continuous Learning is different from traditional ‘Continued Studies’ or ‘Lifelong Learning’ units at other universities. We are challenging the stereotype of what a ‘typical student’ means, and modernizing the look and feel of university programs.

  • ‘Continuous’: The continuum of learning has no beginning or end. As a synonym for ‘progressive’, it positively reflects ongoing growth through lifelong learning.
  • ‘Learning’ means the acquisition of knowledge or skills through experience, study, or teaching. While we are a post-secondary institution, Ontario Tech also see the merits of other learning methods, environments and opportunities.
