Second-annual Mini-Powwow – September 6
ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø, in partnership with Durham College and Oshawa's Carea Community Health Centre, will host its second-annual Mini-Powwow on Friday, September 6.
Faculty, staff, students and members of the community are invited to join the celebrations and enjoy Indigenous music, dances, traditional regalia, food, crafts and culture.
- When: Friday, September 6 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Grand Entry at noon)

Highlights:
This year, we honour Nibi (Anishinaabemowin word for water). We encourage participants to bring refillable water containers and use hydration stations located across campus.
Vendors will be on site selling traditional crafts, art and jewelry (cash only). You can also purchase traditional food provided by Indigenous chefs.
Powwow etiquette information will be available at the Indigenous Education and Cultural Services table.
This year we will also welcome 12 busloads of students from the Durham District and Durham Catholic District School Boards. Buses will drop the students off on the west side of Polonsky Commons between 11 a.m. and noon; they will promptly leave campus and return to pick up the students after the powwow. Arrangements have been made for powwow participants from the community to park in Founders Lot 4 (south of the Campus Ice Centre); signage will be posted on campus and volunteers will direct guests accordingly. A shuttle bus will transport guests between Founders Lot 4 and Polonsky Commons every 15 minutes.
