Osman Hamid named university’s Director, Creativity and Entrepreneurship

The Office of the Vice-President Research and Innovation welcomes Osman Hamid as Ontario Tech’s first Director, Creativity and Entrepreneurship, effective Monday, October 21.

Osman joins the university from Ryerson University’s Ted Rogers School of Management where he worked in numerous strategic initiatives surrounding entrepreneurship and student engagement, blending his passions for entrepreneurship, work-integrated learning and social impact. He received his Master of Business Administration in Global Management, and Bachelor of Commerce from Ryerson University. He will report directly to Les Jacobs, Vice-President, Research and Innovation.

Osman will join the university’s team, which also includes:

  • Karen Zavitz, Manager
  • Jeff Peng, Program Officer
  • Connor Loughlean, Administrative Assistant

Osman’s role will be to provide leadership in increasing Brilliant Catalyst’s visibility as a top space for tech innovation, student experiential education, and entrepreneurship in the Ontario university sector. He will build on the leadership David Pamenter provided in creating the Brilliant Catalyst program at Ontario Tech. The university thanks David for his invaluable contributions to establishing entrepreneurship as an integral component of the student learning experience at Ontario Tech.
