Item collection for the 2019 Mitten Tree

Inspired by the children’s book The Mitten Tree by Candace Christiansen, the Office of Student Life will collect items for the Mitten Tree again this year.

Mitten trees are located in the Student Life Building, East and West Hubs (north Oshawa location), Athletics department in the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre, and the 61 Charles Street Building, second floor (downtown Oshawa location) through Friday, December 20.

Anyone who would like to donate mittens can hang them on the Mitten Tree! Hats, gloves, scarves, socks and any other items that protect from the winter cold are all welcome.

Like in the story, anyone who needs something to stay warm can take them from the tree. All leftover items will be donated to local community youth shelters.

You can also bring non-perishable food items to either location and place them under the tree for donation to the Holiday Food Drive.
