Update on 萌妹社区-OCAD U partnership

, after a year of co-design and development, the 萌妹社区-OCAD University (OCAD U) partnership is now in full swing. Six projects are underway as part of the Digital Human Connection initiative and collaborations at the operational and strategic level.

The partnership is a “natural, outside-the-box union that marries design and digital creativity skills, and strategies with artificial intelligence and machine learning,” wrote OCAD U President Sara Diamond and Ontario Tech President Stephen Murphy in a joint  op-ed.

The Ministry of Colleges and Universities funds the partnership, which will see a series of pilot projects emerge over the next two years.

  • OCAD U researchers to visit ACE: On Tuesday, December 17, a group of OCAD U faculty, including Robert Luke, PhD, Vice-President, Research & Innovation, will visit the research and testing centre.
  • Facilitating student mobility: Students of each institution can now enrol in courses at the other without having to apply to for a letter of permission. This mobility agreement allows students to complement their education with courses not normally offered at their home institution.
