Ontario Tech Peer Tutoring Program internationally recognized by College Reading and Learning Association

The internationally recognized has awarded Ontario Tech’s Peer Tutoring Program certification for all three levels of the CRLA certified tutor-training program.

Ontario Tech launched its Peer Tutoring Program in January 2011 shortly after the Student Learning Centre opened. Peer tutors are upper-year students who have achieved an A in the courses they tutor; they must have an overall cumulative grade point average of 3.3.

For more than 30 years, the CRLA has been a leader in learning assistance, reading, and academic support programs, with almost 1,300 members and more than 2,000 certified training programs worldwide. Achieving certification means Ontario Tech’s Peer Tutoring Program meets the CRLA’s high standards for tutor selection, training, direct service, and evaluation.
