SSHRC launches International Joint Initiative for Research on Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation

The Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC) recently launched the . The initiative represents a collaboration between research funders from Canada, Brazil, Germany, Norway, South Africa, Switzerland, the United Kingdom, and the United States to leverage international expertise to tackle global challenges caused by climate change.

The initiative aims to further the design and implementation of co-produced climate-change adaptation and mitigation strategies for vulnerable groups: those currently most impacted by the effects of climate change, owing to both physical and socioeconomic vulnerability.

Canada’s  administers the initiative. Researchers must submit their notice of intent to apply by Tuesday, May 2.
