FEAS professor authors and edits new Handbook of Generation-IV Nuclear Reactors

, Professor, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Sciences (Department of Energy and Nuclear Engineering), recently authored and edited the new along with 64 international experts, including five Ontario Tech professors and several former and current students.

Currently, 442 nuclear-power reactors generate about 10.4 per cent of the world’s electricity. Global demand for this essential and reliable energy source, almost free from greenhouse gases, is and will be growing. Current interest has led to new nuclear reactors being built in 33 countries. Three countries without reactors are presently adding new builds.

This unique international handbook edition combines history of development, research, industrial-operating experience, new designs, systems and safety analysis, applications of nuclear energy and many other related topics.

This handbook is recommended for a wide range of specialists within the areas of nuclear engineering, power engineering, mechanical engineering, environmental studies, and for undergraduate and graduate students.
