Faculty of Health Sciences Associate Professor has song debut on independent artist music charts
Dr. Wally Bartfay, Associate Professor, , recently had a song debut on the Bandwagon Network Radio (BWNR) Top 40 chart.

Dr. Bartfay’s students call him the ‘Rock N’ Prof’ because he often plays original songs he has written before he commences his lectures. He has also done in patients with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia at Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences in Whitby, Ontario. Specifically, he has explored how personalized music interventions can decrease behavioural and psychological symptoms of dementia (BPSDs), which include a range of neuropsychiatric disturbances such as agitation, aggression, depression, and apathy. BPSD affects up to 97 per cent of community-dwelling patients with dementia and has a significant impact on prognosis, institutionalization, and caregiver well-being.
