Canada Research Coordinating Committee releases latest progress report
The Canada Research Coordinating Committee (CRCC) has released its latest progress report, .
The CRCC advances federal research priorities and the co-ordination of policies and programs of Canada’s research funding agencies and the Canada Foundation for Innovation.
The progress report highlights initiatives taken in the past five years by CRCC member organizations to increase equity, connection and innovation in Canada’s research enterprise.
Together, CRCC member organizations made significant progress on key national research priorities:
- Providing leadership in interdisciplinary, international, high-risk/high-reward, rapid-response research.
- Positioning Canada as a valuable partner in global research and innovation.
- Increasing equity, diversity and inclusion in research.
- Supporting Indigenous self-determination, leadership and capacity in research and research training.
- Supporting early career researchers.
- Enhancing research training for a knowledge-based society.
When the COVID-19 pandemic started, Canada’s research response became another immediate priority.
Progress in all areas reflects the commitment of CRCC member organizations and the Committee’s growing experience as a strategic forum, providing advice and direction on forward-looking initiatives to meet the changing needs of researchers in Canada and the Canadian research enterprise.
