Flexible hybrid drop-in training sessions coming in January

Information Technology (IT) Services is hosting two drop-in training sessions in early January for those who would like to learn more about flexible hybrid usage and how to utilize the equipment within classrooms.

Interested staff and faculty must have a laptop that is compatible with the new audio-visual equipment to utilize flexible hybrid resources.

To ensure optimal functionality with the flexible hybrid equipment, your Ontario Tech laptop must have: a USB-C connection and up-to-date drivers and firmware.

If you are unsure your device is compatible or requires an update, please submit a ticket to the IT Service Desk at least two weeks prior to the event (i.e. no later than the week of Monday, December 18) to ask for confirmation and assistance.

Personal devices (students/external visitors)

Although IT Services has tested Ontario Tech issued devices with the flexible hybrid equipment, they are unable to test every make and model of various personal devices that individuals bring to the classroom and/or events. As a result, there is no guarantee that personal devices will be fully functional with the Ontario Tech flexible hybrid equipment. For external visitors using personal devices, IT Services recommends the staff member responsible for an event book a flexible hybrid loaner laptop from the IT Service Desk (this will be assigned in their name). This is a loaner device that is booked for daily use only.
