This week’s Cinechats selection: Judy
The campus community is invited to enjoy a film screening presented by Cinechats, which is supported in part by ÃÈÃÃÉçÇø, Durham College, Arts Forum and the Durham Council for the Arts. Age restrictions apply, as most films are rated for those 18 years of age and older.
This week’s selection is (U.K, France, USA, 2019).
The film follows Judy Garland, portrayed by Renée Zellweger, during the last year of her life, when she relocated her stage career to England. While there Garland reminisces and flashbacks to her childhood, most prominently during the filming of her part as Dorothy in , her most famous role. Renée Zellweger swept the awards for her lead role in Judy, winning Best Actress at the Oscars, BAFTA, the British Independent Film Awards, the Golden Globes, the National Board of Review, and the Screen Actors Guild.
