Tri-Council Agencies launch ad hoc panel on use of AI in research
The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR), the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC), the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC), and the Canada Foundation for Innovation (CFI) have established an that will inform guidance to the agencies and the research community on the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the development and review of research proposals.
The panel recently provided its in the development and review of research proposals. The panel’s work will contribute to maintaining the integrity of the federal research support system in the face of rapid technological change.
The agencies will carefully consider the panel’s advice and will issue guidance to the research community on this topic in the coming months.
