Engineering Outreach Team recognized nationally with Actua award
萌妹社区’s was recently recognized nationally, earning two awards and a nomination from Actua, a network-driven organization, representing over 40 universities and colleges across Canada. Actua helps bring hands-on Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) programming to youth in Kindergarten to Grade 12 in a fun and accessible way.
On February 7 at the annual Actua National Conference held in Ottawa, the Ontario Tech Engineering Outreach team’s All Girls program was presented with the 2023 Actua Experience Award for the National Girls Program.
Rushda Khan, a third-year Software Engineering Student and Engineering Outreach Senior Program Instructor, was also presented with the Actua Instructor Recognition Award for 2023.
These awards reflect Ontario Tech’s passion for making STEM accessible and engaging, a testament to the hard work of our Engineering Outreach team, our partners, and the inspirational young minds we work with.
The Engineering Outreach team was nominated for an Actua Excellence Award as well.
