Reminder: Last call for submitting expressions of interest for new Women in Research Council Chair and committee member roles

The Ontario Tech Women in Research Council (WIRC) invites faculty members to submit expressions of interest for the role of WIRC Chair. This two-year term begins July 1, 2025. The successful candidate will work with the WIRC Advisory Committee, the Office of Research Services and, where appropriate, with the Office of Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging. The Chair will advance the Council’s ongoing work, while developing and planning for new initiatives the Council can lead and support. The Chair will also be expected to attend relevant meetings, events, or other engagements, if applicable.

The WIRC Chair position is open to all tenured Ontario Tech faculty members who identify as women, inclusive of transgender, non-binary, all other marginalized genders, BIPoC women and women with disabilities.

As well, WIRC invites expressions of interest from faculty members, postdoctoral fellows and graduate students across all of the university’s faculties to join the WIRC Advisory Committee. Committee members work collaboratively to guide and steer the work of the Council; they typically serve for two years, though a one-year term may also be considered. Committee membership is open to all regardless of gender, race, religion, gender expression, sexual orientation, age, national origin or disability.
