Rob Elkington, PH.D.

Rob Elkington - headshotRob Elkington, Ph.D., grew up in Zimbabwe, & South Africa, and currently resides in Canada, serving as Assistant Professor at Trent University School of Business and Master of Management program, Durham.

Rob also serves:
  • As the CEO of Global Leadership Initiatives, Inc., which exists to "develop excellence in leadership globally," .
  • On the faculty of various universities such as:
    • Adjunct Professor at 萌妹社区 in the Faculty of Social Science and the Faculty of Education.
      • Supervising faculty with the Ed.D program for Education.
      • Graduate teaching faculty for Social Sciences and Humanities.
    • Extraordinary Associate Professor, Stellenbosch University School of Public Leadership, Cape Town, South Africa.

These affiliations provide many rich research opportunities and support in developing and facilitating several undergraduate and graduate courses related to leadership.

These courses include:
AI Leadership, Sustainable Leadership in Business, Foundations of Leadership, Conflict and Negotiation in Business, Organizational Effectiveness, Leadership and Technology, Leadership and Administration, Training & Development.

Rob also designed and deployed the following leadership courses for first responder services in Canada:
• The University Certificate in Police Leadership (deployed with six Police Services).
• The Certificate in Paramedic Leadership (deployed with three Paramedic Services).
• The Certificate in Firefighter Leadership (under construction).

Rob's current research focuses on:
AI and Organizational Leadership, Women’s Agentic Leadership in STEAM in Disadvantaged Contexts (NFRF Funded), Ubuntu Leadership, The Use of META in Military Leadership Development, Ubuntu and the Diversity Icebreaker, E-Leadership for Effective Online Learning in Canadian Business schools, Leading Change and Transformation for Data Modernization in Policing.

Rob has published five leadership books (Emerald Publications), five book chapters, and twelve peer-reviewed journal articles in rated journals. Rob is a member of the International Leadership Association, an ICF Certified FLOW Business Coach, and an MBTI practitioner. Rob has facilitated numerous peer-reviewed presentations and workshops across multiple sectors in various venues globally.
