Getting ready for virtual summer camp
萌妹社区’s Continuous Learning Department, with the Mitch and Leslie Frazer Faculty of Education and the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, is proud to offer fun, week-long summer camps for children and youth to explore their curiosity.
The below information is provided to help campers get ready for their registered 2024 virtual summer camps program!
You will need...
- A device capable of video conferencing
- Speakers, headphone/earbuds, or headset
- A webcam
- A microphone or headset
- A stable internet connection
- Programs & apps listed in the camp description and info package
- Home support to join the camp session
New to Google Meets?
Our 2024 virtual summer camps will be delivered using Google Meets video conferencing software. Campers will receive a “Getting Ready for Camp” email about one (1) week prior to the start of their registered camp outlining specific camp information, such as the unique camp link for joining their upcoming virtual camp.
We ask that campers please:- do not distribute this unique camp link, or other meeting details to others for the safety of all the children in the camp session;
- be prepared to enter the virtual camp session 5-10 minutes prior to the start of the registered camp; and
- sign-in to the virtual camp session using the camper's first and last name(s) used during registration. Camp counsellors may deny access to those entering the session who are not listed on the camp registration list.

The Summer Camps Team will contact registrants primarily by email using the parent/guardian email address(es) provided at the time of registration.

Please ensure emails from summercamps@ontariotechu.ca are not redirected into your junk and/or spam email folders.
Yahoo and Rogers users especially, please check your email spam and/or junk folders on a computer or laptop as some devices (and apps) apply additional spam and junk filters.

Our 2024 virtual camps can be attended from a variety of locations.
As a reminder, parents/guardians are responsible for supervising their child(ren).
During virtual camp, camp staff will reference the Camper Location, Parent/guardian 1 and Parent/guardian 2 information provided at the time of registration for the purposes of addressing any on-screen Code of Conduct violations, issues and/or emergencies.
If Camper Location, Parent/guardian 1 or Parent/guardian 2 information has changed since the time of registration, please email us at summercamps@ontariotechu.ca.
